This summarizes why I see Sherlock as trying to hide his emotions, to deny them. He obviously has them, and he obviously has grown to truly love John.
And he is absolutely terrified of what he would become if he ever admitted to and embraced those emotions. And after the pool? He knows that John compromises him. His heart, his emotions… he would shoot Moriarty, become a killer, for John, if it would save John, he would do anything… and if John was killed- Sherlock would have kamikazied to kill Moriarty.
And for Sherlock, that is beyond terrifying.
I think, if Moffat and Gatiss play off of the character that I see built up, there will be a bit of, distancing going on.
I could see Irene being played up as a barrier for him. I really can’t see Sherlock opening up, can’t see him accepting this massive weakness and then embracing it.
He accepted it in the Pool, and it made him stronger- but also made him so very weak. I just, this show makes me a ball of feelings, wonderful and terrible all at once.

Wow. That is fantastically well-written. I never really thought of him as the kind of person to hide his emotions, I just thought he didn’t have them.

That’s just it, he HAS them, you can see it in so many little moments, like the reaction to John saying “I don’t Have to”(imagine what he’d say when he was dieing) that was emotional, and intense, and he immediately switched gears and distracted himself, and everyone else, from that emotional moment.
He probably feels way TOO much. He probably buries his emotions as a safety measure, as a child he probably had rages and fits of mania that scared him so badly he shut everything emotional down and locked it away.
Maybe he once raged and destroyed something, or hurt someone, maybe part of why he is so determined to solve crimes, to fix wrongs, is someone was hurt, maybe even Mycroft was hurt, by his rage at something. At 5 or 6 perhaps, young enough to set emotional blocks as ingrained as Sherlocks, to keep him from really developing his empathy as most children do around those ages. But old enough to remember, and be held accountable for his behavior, To himself, old enough to really grasp that it was his actions, etc.

WOW.
What with the end of both Season 2 and three- going to just highlight this.
He knows that John compromises him. His heart, his emotions… he would shoot Moriarty, become a killer, for John, if it would save John, he would do anything…

We are missing so many gifs here… our fandom has always had a lot of crack. And Not JUST Gifs. (All big leaks of set pics spawned things like THIS.) There are about 40 more crack filled posts of gifs on my blog, but I got lazy. Most are helped along by Barachiki and select others.

Of course “Mary Watson” was good enough for her, John.

THAT’S WHAT SHE WAS AFTER THE WHOLE TIME!

She could’ve chosen any name in the world, but she chose Mary Elizabeth Morstan. Then she married a man with the last name Watson.

I SEE THROUGH YOUR LITTLE SCHEME, MARY.

Because I noticed the thing Sherlock overlooked because he was too focused on the “liar” deduction.

Mary is a cat lover.

And now her initials are “MEW.”

[Happy #Reichencrack Day! This is a #reichencrack theory.]

This is the best crack theory I have ever seen. I laughed so hard.

Happy (future) birthday, Jim Kirk!

Seriously, when people harsh on (mostly female) fans for doing a shrine, memorial or other real life homage, I side eye it. Scotland has one for Scotty, Iowa has one for Kirk, and I am fairly sure there are more scattered around for other OLD fandoms.

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS

THIS GUY

AND THIS FELLA

ARE TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PEOPLE?!!?

The second one is how John really is inside; disheveled, hurt, angry, and close to exploding. Then he fixes his hair, straightens his coat, puts on the mask of a normal well-adjusted man, and walks out into the world pretending to be like everyone else.

Stiff upper lip

Three day sale only! From now until Saturday use the coupon code SHERLOCKLIVES in my shop on Etsy to get 40 percent off of my Sherlock Bracelet! It’s only applicable to the bracelet this time around; I will have more Sherlock themed items soon.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/120925243/bbc-sherlock-holmes-charm-bracelet?

The reason why the hedgehog is at one end, and believe on the other? because John will always believe in Sherlock.

This beautiful bracelet is BBC Sherlock Holmes inspired, each charm represents one key factor in the series from the scarlet dress to the hound, and ranges through the series in chronological order, ending with John still believing in Sherlock all the way through.
There will be several different charm bracelet/anklet(s) made in the near future, one representing each member of cast, and of course, the all awaited slashes.

This current charm bracelet/anklet holds these sets of charms set upon a lock and key toggle:
Hedge hog for John, A Study in Pink, The milk carton (of looooove), The Lotus Blossom, The Cellphone(Pip Pip/ -moan-), The Magnifying Glass, Sexy Handcuffs, Mycroft’s Umbrella, The Hound, A cup of tea, Moriarty’s Crown, A True Story, and last, what’s in ever fan’s hearts and mind-Believe.
If you would like DIFFERENT charms, please let me know and I will make accommodations :3

*Customs available~

This charm bracelet /ankletmeasures about ten and a half inches. If you would like a larger or smaller version, please let me know.

Yessss the Season 1 &2 Wrap up bracelet is on sale *debates buying one and eyes wallet*. Curse those adorable Girlscouts for nabbing all my funds for the month! (Not really, bless them and may they be wise and kind enough to save a crate to sell next month.)

Seriously, go check it out! :D
